Art within architecture

I begin with the room itself

Over time, my work has grown in scale. Today I create large panels and site-specific works for private homes, hotels, galleries and businesses.

I look at the architecture, the natural light and the way people move through the space. I listen to what the place is used for, and how the people behind it want others to feel when they arrive.

Sometimes the answer is a single work. Sometimes the artwork needs to grow across an entire wall and become part of the architecture.

Created for the room. Belonging to the room.

    The room

    We begin with the architecture, what the room is used for, and how it should feel.

  2. 02

    The direction

    I develop an artistic direction from the surroundings — the light, the colours, the identity, and the people who use the room.

  3. 03

    The work

    The piece is made on site, and becomes part of the architecture.

    The experience

    A single site-specific work — made for the place, and for the people in it.

A place can make us lower our shoulders

I am interested in the atmosphere we cannot measure, yet immediately feel when we enter a room.

It can make us curious. It can make us stay a little longer. That is what I hope to create.
